What you need to bring

What we do

Roles

So let us know if you'd like to be a full time permanent part of our little family - making sure our kiwi clients truely feel at home by picking up on how you can make each individuals day.

Ideally you buzz as much about making others smile as you do about growing and challenging yourself. All the while keeping comfort, cleanliness, operational demands and safety in balance... with pride...

JUST KNOW WE HIRE PEOPLE AND NOT SKILLS... so if you share our values and some of what we do is unfamiliar we're more than happy to train you into things... we all started somewhere!

LIVE & WORK onboard an expedition ship in truely wild places.. ... be based at the gateway to New Zealand's biggest National Park.. help kiwis discover their stunning backyard.. be challenged and grow within your role and excited to be a key member within a small, passionate, hard working and slightly OCD team.. At our core we're all about people.. valuing integrity, growth and altruism. If it sounds like you we're already looking forward to hearing from you.

Looking to be part of an adventure...

Most of our adventures run a week at a time and have no schedules whatsoever which requires flexible thinking and self directed work ethic from all crew aboard. We run M.V. Flightless with a minimum of three crew all dedicated to ensure the 12 clients have the best possible adventure whilst keeping the vessel maintained and everybody onboard safe.

Roles are FULL TIME PERMANENT

We operate year around and are generally booked 12 months in advance so no second thoughts about job security.. smile..

BASE

We're based in Te Anau and would need you to be based close by.. ie no more than a 2-3 hour drive away. You start at 0800 at base and we head to the helicopter hangar from there to fly onto our vessel for your stint.

ROSTERS

Stints vary for each crew as well as across time as everybody has a different threshold and life to work around. However we'll start with two trips on and one trip off..  so 8-12 days onboard and 4-8 days on land and work from there.

Rosters are set a minimum of one month in advance and flexible as that is what we love about our lives!

ACCOMMODATION

You live onboard while you're working so your FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION is taken care of!  However we do not provide accommodation for your time off.

PAY

We run on day rates for every day your onboard and your rate will depend on what you bring to the table and what role you're in.

why.

what.

how.

Pure Salt NZ operates a 27m-expedition vessel for a maximum of 12 clients at a time. We offer unique multi day adventures in remote locations around New Zealand and international waters for all walks of life from family groups to corporates.

No adventure is like the other, there are no schedules or itineraries.. we simply follow the rhythm  of sun and tides along with what everybody feels like for the day.

It's all about PEOPLE.

Our clients fly in and out by helicopter to reach the remote areas we operate in. Currently our 27m-expedition vessel is based within the waters of Fiordland National Park and Stewart Island year around.

We are a small team that thrives on growing, learning and exploring.

Pure Salt NZ offers a maximum of 12 kiwi clients at a time the opportunity to kayak, free & SCUBA dive, paddle-board, hunt, walk, swim, spearfish, part take in conservation activities, fish, watch whales, birds, dolphins and seals or just relax in the hot tub. Exploring the National parks, learning the local history and new skills is all part of the experience but all in all it is about the client getting away from their busy lives and allowing them to reconnect with themselves and each other while enjoying activities safely out in a remote environment. Something made possible by a three to four person team running the ship passionately and living our values - integrity, growth, honesty in everything we do.

We're proud of the wonderful humans we get to work and grow with and privileged to function as a social enterprise - committed to giving back to the place we call home and the people we share it with… www.puresalt.co.nz/conservation

Most of our adventures run a week at a time and have no schedules whatsoever which requires flexible thinking and self directed work ethic from all crew aboard. We run M.V.
